RMCOBOL How much compatible is opencobol and rmcobol?
Will i suffer much to convert a big programm to opencobol? Is anything doable in opencobol? |

Re: RMCOBOL Have you run your RM COBOL compiler with its "ANSI" (or FIPS) flagging turned on? To the extent that your RM COBOL program doesn't use RM extensions, it will be easier (easiest).
On the other hand, there are certainly some RM extensions that exist in OpenCOBOL - but there are others that do not. If you run your RM compiler flagging extensions and list whichever are most common in your program in this forum, users will be better able to help you know how many will require source code conversions. Again, if your RM program is MOSTLY conforming to the ANSI Standard, then it should mostly be compatible with OC. If not, "results will vary". |
